Who we are

About Samanwaya Nepal

A youth-centered, not-for-profit institution working at the intersection of democratic governance, social inclusion, and community development across all seven provinces of Nepal.

Strategic Vision

An inclusive, accountable & resilient democracy

To realize an inclusive, accountable, and resilient democratic society where all young people — irrespective of gender, ethnicity, geography, or socioeconomic background — possess the agency, platform, and equity to shape the policies and decisions that govern their lives and communities.

Strategic Mission

Fortifying youth participation in governance & inclusion

To fortify youth participation across democratic governance structures and safeguard systemic social inclusion by building meaningful, localized platforms for leadership incubation, progressive civic literacy, grassroots community organizing, and evidence-based cross-sectoral collaboration.

How we work

Our 4-tier operational framework

We deliver sustainable impact by shifting away from top-down development models — operating from grassroots communities all the way to global policy arenas.

🌱
Local level

Incubate

We design open-source civic toolkits, digital literacy modules, and leadership curriculums — delivering them directly to municipal youth networks to build long-term local capacity.

🤝
Sub-national level

Deliberate

We activate secure, cross-sectoral assembly spaces where citizens, local government executives, and media practitioners collaborate on localized structural challenges.

📢
National level

Advocate

We translate raw grassroots field data and applied research into actionable policy white papers to influence national legal, regulatory, and governance reforms.

🌐
International level

Amplify

We connect Nepal's youth-led innovations with global governance platforms, transnational networks, and international forums — amplifying domestic voices on global stages.

Our work

8 interconnected strategic areas

Our work is organized around eight pillars derived directly from our formal statutory mandate — each representing a vital component of our change framework.

🏛️

Democratic Governance & Civic Engagement

Establishing sustainable pathways for youth engagement in public administration — from municipal ward levels to national policy consultations, mock parliaments and youth-government roundtables.

🤲

Social Inclusion, Equity & Justice

Amplifying leadership pipelines of Dalit communities, indigenous Janajatis, women, persons with disabilities, and underserved frontier populations by centering programming around their localized priorities.

🌱

Leadership Incubation & Institutional Capacity

Combining formal skill-building with experiential community organizing — providing tracks in public policy fluency, project management, and ethical decision-making.

⚖️

Human Rights & Rule of Law

Evidence-based accountability tracking across Nepal's federal system — covering public procurement monitoring, RTI implementation, civic space preservation, and community-led human rights documentation.

🕊️

Non-Partisan Deliberation & Collaboration

Curating secure, non-partisan arenas to bridge political, ethnic, and regional polarization through multi-stakeholder symposia and inter-municipal working exchanges.

🌍

Climate Action & Environmental Sustainability

Integrating environmental consciousness into local planning through community-based ecosystem conservation, municipal climate adaptation frameworks, and climate justice campaigns led by youth.

💻

Digital Literacy & Applied Research

Bridging the digital divide through technology bootcamps, e-governance tracking modules, and online education — alongside rigorous academic research to publish policy briefs informing national discourse.

🤝

Livelihoods, Culture & Community Development

Anchoring democratic stability alongside sustainable local economic growth — supporting agricultural models, cooperative networks, public health awareness, and preservation of indigenous knowledge and arts.

Global alignment

Aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda

Samanwaya Nepal explicitly aligns its programmatic interventions with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development — driving measurable progress across five primary SDGs.

5
Gender Equality

Dismantling systemic barriers to leadership for women, young girls, and gender minorities in public life.

10
Reduced Inequalities

Centering the agency of Dalit communities, indigenous Janajatis, and intersectionally marginalized populations.

13
Climate Action

Equipping local youth networks to design and lead environmental adaptation frameworks in vulnerable eco-zones.

16
Peace & Justice

Promoting transparency, rule of law, open data access, and non-partisan public dialogue across Nepal.

17
Partnerships

Bridging the gap between grassroots civil society, the private sector, and international development agencies.
